Churchyard

Memorials

The Church of England has national regulations which are there to help make sure that the churchyard is a place of peace and beauty for everyone to enjoy.

A leaflet has been produced which explains what is permissible when erecting a memorial on a grave or ashes plot. This leaflet can be downloaded from the website of the Diocese of Oxford.

If you would like further help, please contact the administrator or priest-in-charge.

Help us look after our Churchyard

The churchyard is a green space open to all in our local community. We try to keep the churchyard tidy and would welcome help, so we are in the process of setting up a group ‘Friends of All Saints Churchyard’.

We have a wide range of tasks: grass cutting and strimming , hedge cutting, painting fences, trimming path edges, weeding and litter picking. On the first Saturday of each month we have a working party, usually starting at 10am, to do as many of the tasks as we can, but there are informal working parties at other times to suit our volunteers.

We will need to raise funds for bigger tasks such as path re-laying.

Working party dates – please join us, if you can, any time between 10am and 1pm on the first Saturday of the month, unless advertised in the Calendar differently.

During the summer months we are also holding additional working parties on the third Wednesday of the month between 6pm and 8pm.  All are welcome for any part of this time.
