I have been the vicar of All Saints’ Church Didcot in September 2019 and, as a family, we have enjoyed settling in the area. Previously we served 12 years in churches on the edge of Nottingham and before that near Northampton, Cambridge and Lichfield. Originally I worked in computers before sensing God nudge me to work for the Church Mission Society and then towards ordination. I often think of Christian faith as “walking with Jesus” in all of life, in conversation with the Bible and as empowered by the Holy Spirit. There is a wonderful simplicity about faith, but one that challenges a deeper engagement in the difficult issues we face in life and as nations.
I am also the Bishop’s Advisor for Didcot Garden Town, helping us to think about how the churches engage with all the new housing that is being built. The mission of the church within God’s mission has been a focus of my academic study and writing and practice for many years. My wife, Debbie, is also ordained and has been involved in schools, music and fresh expression ministry. We are enjoying discovering walks in Oxfordshire and beyond!
